Children’s program

The Roman Festival has become a favorite excursion destination for families. The colorful program features numerous activities that are suitable for kids of every age and sure to be a memorable experience for them. Game and crafting stations, sword and shield painting, and a Roman hairdressers’ combine to make a popular children’s program for families.

Dogs at the Roman Festival

Dogs that are leashed and muzzled can be taken along to all event venues of the Roman Festival (Roman city quarter and gladiator fights at the amphitheater in the military city). Dogs are not allowed in Museum Carnuntinum.

Roman Culinary Arts

Culinary enjoyment is integral to the Roman Festival! You can sample and purchase regional honey, candied nuts, fruit juices and strawberries. Taking a break in the shade sipping a glass of wine from a Carnuntum wine maker is an especially pleasant experience. In the large food tent, typical Roman dishes await you along with classic dishes from the Austrian cuisine. In-between meals, there are several food stations throughout the grounds serving snacks or ice-cream to tide you over.

A free shuttle bus runs all day long, connecting the Roman city quarter with the amphitheater in the military city. With your admission ticket, you can use the shuttle bus as often as you like to move back and forth between the legionnaires, artisans and barbarians in the Roman city quarter and the spectacular gladiator fights at the amphitheater.
