Military City's Amphitheatre

The Amphitheatre was erected as a wooden construction in the first century AD. It was rebuilt in stone at the beginning of the 2nd century AD and gained its present form in the second half of the 2nd century AD. The entrances into the theatre were on the east and west sides.  As the military camp was situated right next to the Amphitheatre, the western entrance was the main entrance. Both entrances could be closed with large gates.
