Carnuntum is open daily at Easter from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, there are special tours and programs.

Holiday time is family time in the Roman city. During the Easter Weekend, in addition to the normal tour program, the standard tour is replaced with the family tour every day at 11:00 am. An ideal opportunity for young and old to get to know Carnuntum. Of course, all tickets purchased are also valid for the Come-Again-Ticket. The family tour takes place exclusively in German.

World Heritage Day program

Furthermore, on April 18, 2022 (Easter Monday), the Roman city of Carnuntum is celebrating UNESCO World Heritage Day for the first time by reviving the Roman heritage in Carnuntum. The background is that Carnuntum, as part of the Austrian Danube Limes, has officially become a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021! The Roman houses fill with life, bread is baked, there are stations with Roman games for children and a group of reenactors shows the clothes of the Romans. In addition, there will be a special World Heritage tour at 11:00 am.

UNESCO World heritage tour in the Roman city of Carnuntum, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Embark on an unprecedented tour through the history of Carnuntum. The tour aims to give visitors a sense of the importance and grandeur of ancient Carnuntum. On the occasion of UNESCO World Heritage Day, the archaeological monuments are the focus of the tour. Hike to the site where the great forum once stood, or walk through the remains of the amphitheater. The free app and display boards breathe life back into these places. You will experience ancient Carnuntum like never before! Attention: The UNESCO World Heritage Tour will only be held in German!
