This Ferragosto, Carnuntum will be all about “Living History” – history brought to life. For three days, our guided tours focus on a special theme: Which objects did the Romans use – and how, where, and for what purpose?

This year, we are putting unusual and special objects in the spotlight. In the Roman City Quarter, visitors can see replicas of ancient objects presented in their original contexts – right inside the reconstructed Roman houses. At the Museum Carnuntinum, these meticulously crafted replicas are displayed side-by-side with the original finds, allowing you to take a closer look at the genuine artifacts themselves.

• Replicas within arm’s reach: in the City Quarter in their historical context, in the Museum in direct comparison with the originals
