Quartier romain (accessibilité limitée)

Depuis le parking, vous rejoindrez aisément le guichet en fauteuil roulant puis un îlot info central via des chemins goudronnés ou gravillonnés (sol stabilisé). De là, vous aurez une vue d'ensemble du quartier romain et pourrez découvrir l'intérieur des maisons reconstituées grâce à un film. Les maisons romaines reproduites à l'identique contiennent des marches parfois hautes et des sols irréguliers. La rue romaine qui encercle ces maisons est partiellement accessible aux fauteuils roulants et aux poussettes. Vous pouvez la contourner en passant sur la pelouse. Des rampes mobiles (200 cm de longueur, 75 cm de largeur intérieure, 250 kg de poids supporté, poids 6,8 kg) facilitent la visite des thermes romains et de la Villa Urbana. Ces rampes mobiles et des fauteuils roulants sont à votre disposition pour une utilisation en autonomie au guichet et sur le site. Veuillez nous communiquer vos besoins par téléphone quelques jours avant votre visite et vous informer sur les spécificités du lieu. Si vous avez un fauteuil électrique pesant plus de 250 kg, téléphonez-nous, nous avons d'autres rampes à disposition. Les groupes souhaitant des visites guidées sont priés de nous faire part de leurs besoins dès la réservation. Des toilettes pour personnes handicapées se situent près de l'entrée principale.

Amphithéâtre cité militaire 
Vous pouvez rejoindre le guichet et la salle d'exposition en fauteuil roulant depuis le parking. Une aide est la bienvenue pour accéder à l'arène. Le chemin menant au guichet et à la salle d'exposition est gravillonné, l'accès à l'arène se fait par la pelouse. Le gradin visiteurs dispose de places pour fauteuils roulants. L'amphithéâtre ne dispose pas de WC pour personnes handicapées.

Musée Carnuntinum
Le musée Carnuntinum est entièrement accessible aux fauteuils roulants. Un monte-escalier permet l'accès à l'étage et un fauteuil roulant est à disposition en cas de besoin.

Tous les guichets sont équipés de boucles à induction magnétique. Dans le quartier romain, les stations d'écoute sont équipées de boucles d'induction magnétique et des dispositifs d'induction portables sont également disponibles sur réservation pour les visites guidées.

La salle d'exposition de l'amphithéâtre de la cité militaire est également dotée d'une boucle d'induction magnétique.

Depuis le parking, un système de guidage au sol mène jusqu'au site archéologique où se trouve un système d'orientation tactile. Toutes les informations des panneaux sont traduites en braille. Vous pouvez également demander un livret en braille et en gros caractères au guichet.

Musée Carnuntinum
Le musée n'a pour l'instant pas de panneaux d'information tactiles ou en braille.

Archäologischer Kulturpark Niederösterreich Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. endeavors to ensure that its website at www.carnuntum.at and its online store at https://shop.carnuntum.at/ webshop/ in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) and the Lower Austrian Web Accessibility Ordinance implementing EU Directive 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 26, 2016, on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

Status of compliance with requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, the website is partially compliant with conformity level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03). The incompatibilities and exceptions are listed below.

Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

• For some images and graphics, the alternative text is not meaningful or is missing entirely (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content).
• Some content in sliders is cut off at the sides when scaled up to 200% in the browser. In some cases, text content is also superimposed (WCAG 1.4.10 Overflow).
• Moving images should be pausable, but there is no pause button or similar (WCAG 2.2.1 Adjustable timing and 2.2.2 Pause, stop, hide).
• In some cases, the keyboard focus on logos and buttons is not clearly recognizable. In a few cases, the focus is not visible or elements cannot be controlled with the keyboard, e.g., checkboxes in forms (WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard and WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible).
• The website is compatible with current assistive technologies such as screen readers. When opening and closing the menu, no status message is announced by screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3 Status Messages).
• PDF documents: Individual downloadable PDF files do not fully comply with accessibility requirements.
   

We are working on solving these problems:

• Alternative texts are being continuously added and optimized.
• We are continuously working on focus issues to further minimize them.
• Moving images will be equipped with a pause button by the end of 2025.

Website review

The website's compliance with the Web Accessibility Act implementing the requirements of EU Directive 2016/2102 was assessed in August 2025 in the form of an external test according to WCAG 2.1 at conformity level AA in July 2025. The homepage, contact options, five other representative subpages of the NÖKU website, and the homepages of the respective NÖKU companies were reviewed. Individual page content is regularly checked by the web editorial team when new content is published.
