As part of the Year of Remembrance 2025, we invite you to take part in very special guided tours of the Roman Quarter in Carnuntum on four selected Saturdays. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to take part in an interactive journey through the history of archaeological research and museum presentation of the archaeological park.

The special tours are dedicated to the close links between the development of Carnuntum and the formative events of 1945, 1955, 1995 and 2005 - milestones that had a decisive influence on the shape of the Roman town today. From the end of the war in 1945, to the merger of the excavations into an open-air museum in 1955, to the founding of the operating company in 1995, to setting the course for the international success of archaeological mediation from 2005 - all these stages are vividly conveyed on a multimedia-accompanied walk, but the most important achievements between and since these events are also discussed.

Using tablets and interactive media, visitors not only experience the individual construction stages of the globally unique buildings, but also the eventful history of their exploration - from the beginnings of archaeological efforts to current research projects. It becomes clear how strongly scientific findings, political decisions and museum visions are intertwined.

The special tour concludes with a culinary finale in an exclusive setting (including wine accompaniment), where Roman delights and ancient ambience meet in a convivial atmosphere. Experience Carnuntum like never before - between past, present and future!
