Carnuntum is optimally connected to the public transport network of Vienna by the regional express REX 7. In only 45 minutes you can reach the world of the Romans in Carnuntum stress-free from the center of Vienna. By train

From Vienna

Carnuntum is well connected with Vienna via train.

Departure on weekdays and weekends from Wien Mitte - Landstraße every 30 minutes or hourly (depending on the time of day) in the direction of Wolfsthal. Journey time 45 minutes. From the Petronell-Carnuntum railway station, the Roman Quarter is a 15-minute walk away, follow the signs.

Trains for the return journey to Vienna also leave Petronell-Carnuntum every 30 minutes or every hour (depending on the time of day).

For a visit to the Carnuntinum Museum, Bad Deutsch-Altenburg railway station is the right place to get off. The museum is a 20-minute walk away.

From Bratislava

Take the regional MHD bus No. 901 from „Nový most“ or „Petržalka/Einsteinova“ to Hainburg a.d. Donau. Change to train S7 in direction of Vienna. Get off at the train station Bad Deutsch Altenburg (Museum Carnuntinum) or Petronell-Carnuntum (Roman City Quarter).
