Barrio Romano (accesible con algunas limitaciones)

Desde el aparcamiento se puede llegar con silla de ruedas hasta la taquilla sin encontrar ningún obstáculo y luego acceder a una isla de información central ya dentro del parque arqueológico por medio de caminos asfaltados o de grava (superficies pavimentadas). Desde este punto se puede contemplar el Barrio Romano y conocer el interior de las casas reconstruidas a través de una película proyectada. En las edificaciones romanas reconstruidas fielmente sí hay algunos escalones elevados y desniveles parciales. Están rodeadas por la calle de estilo romano, que tan solo es parcialmente accesible con sillas de ruedas y cochecitos de bebé. Una opción alternativa es desplazarse sobre el césped. Con la ayuda de rampas móviles (longitud de 200 cm, anchura interna de 75 cm, capacidad de carga de 250 kg, peso de 6,8 kg) se pueden conocer sin problemas las termas y la villa urbana. Tanto estas rampas móviles como sillas de ruedas están disponibles para que las personas visitantes puedan hacer uso de ellas de manera independiente. Pregunte en la taquilla o a nuestro personal sobre el terreno. Le rogamos que notifique por teléfono sus necesidades unos días antes de su visita y que se informe sobre las condiciones en el lugar. Si tiene una silla de ruedas eléctrica que pese más de 250 kg, también le pedimos que nos lo comunique telefónicamente, ya que disponemos de rampas alternativas. Para grupos con visitas guiadas reservadas les rogamos que notifiquen si tienen alguna necesidad especial en el momento de hacer la reserva. Hay un aseo especialmente equipado para personas con discapacidad en la entrada principal.

Anfiteatro de la ciudad militar 
Desde el aparcamiento se puede llegar con silla de ruedas hasta la taquilla y la zona de exhibiciones sin encontrar ningún obstáculo. Para acceder a la arena donde se combatía sería buena idea contar con asistencia. El camino de acceso hasta la taquilla y la zona de exhibiciones está pavimentado con gravilla. A la arena se accede sobre césped. En las tribunas de visitantes hay lugares específicamente habilitados para sillas de ruedas. El anfiteatro no está dotado de aseos adaptados.

Museo Carnuntinum
El Museo Carnuntinum se puede visitar y disfrutar en su totalidad en silla de ruedas. Dispone de una plataforma elevadora para acceder a la planta superior. Si es necesario, también cuenta con una silla de ruedas disponible.

Las taquillas de todas las sedes del parque cuentan con bucles de inducción magnética portátiles. En el Barrio Romano hay estaciones de audio equipadas con bucles de inducción, pero además también hay disponibles dispositivos de inducción móviles para visitas guiadas, con reserva previa.

En el anfiteatro de la ciudad militar, la zona de exhibiciones también está equipada con un bucle de inducción magnética.

En el aparcamiento comienza una guía de pavimento táctil que conduce hasta el parque arqueológico, que a su vez está dotado de un sistema de orientación táctil. Toda la información que contienen los paneles está disponible también en Braille. Además, en la taquilla hay disponibles guías breves en Braille e impresas con letras de gran formato.

Archäologischer Kulturpark Niederösterreich Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. endeavors to ensure that its website at www.carnuntum.at and its online store at https://shop.carnuntum.at/ webshop/ in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) and the Lower Austrian Web Accessibility Ordinance implementing EU Directive 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 26, 2016, on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

Status of compliance with requirements

Due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions, the website is partially compliant with conformity level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03). The incompatibilities and exceptions are listed below.

Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

• For some images and graphics, the alternative text is not meaningful or is missing entirely (WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content).
• Some content in sliders is cut off at the sides when scaled up to 200% in the browser. In some cases, text content is also superimposed (WCAG 1.4.10 Overflow).
• Moving images should be pausable, but there is no pause button or similar (WCAG 2.2.1 Adjustable timing and 2.2.2 Pause, stop, hide).
• In some cases, the keyboard focus on logos and buttons is not clearly recognizable. In a few cases, the focus is not visible or elements cannot be controlled with the keyboard, e.g., checkboxes in forms (WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard and WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible).
• The website is compatible with current assistive technologies such as screen readers. When opening and closing the menu, no status message is announced by screen readers (WCAG 4.1.3 Status Messages).
• PDF documents: Individual downloadable PDF files do not fully comply with accessibility requirements.
   

We are working on solving these problems:

• Alternative texts are being continuously added and optimized.
• We are continuously working on focus issues to further minimize them.
• Moving images will be equipped with a pause button by the end of 2025.

Website review

The website's compliance with the Web Accessibility Act implementing the requirements of EU Directive 2016/2102 was assessed in August 2025 in the form of an external test according to WCAG 2.1 at conformity level AA in July 2025. The homepage, contact options, five other representative subpages of the NÖKU website, and the homepages of the respective NÖKU companies were reviewed. Individual page content is regularly checked by the web editorial team when new content is published.
